52、每个社群都是一个小型的天堂,这还可以从以下事实得知:每个社群都与整个天堂的形式一样。天堂就整体而言,最为卓越的天使住在中间,其余的照着优秀程度的下降而依此环绕而住,直到边界,如前所述(参看43节)。由此也可以看出,主引导整个天堂的天使,仿佛他们是一位天使。每个社群中的所有天使也是这样。因此,整个天使社群有时显为一位天使的形式,正如我蒙主允许所看到的那样。况且,当主显现在天使中间时,并没有显为被众天使围绕的一位,而是显现为一位天使的形像。这就是在圣经中主被称为“一位天使”、整个社群也被如此称呼的原因。“米迦勒”、“加百列”和“拉斐尔”无非是因他们的职能而被如此称呼的天使社群。{注1}

Heaven and Hell #52 (NCE, 2000)

52. We may also gather that a community is a heaven in lesser form from the fact that the heavenly form in each community is of the same nature as it is in heaven overall. In heaven overall (as noted above in 43), the most outstanding individuals are in the center, and around them, in decreasing order all the way to the circumference, are those who are less outstanding. It follows also from the fact that the Lord leads all the people in the whole of heaven as though they were a single angel, and does the same for those who are in any particular community. As a result, sometimes a whole angelic community appears as a single entity in the form of an angel, a sight that the Lord has allowed me to see. Further, when the Lord appears in the midst of angels, he does not appear surrounded by a crowd but as a lone individual in angelic form. This is why the Lord is called an angel in the Word, as is also a whole community: Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael are nothing but angelic communities that are given these names because of their functions. 1

Footnotes:

1. In the Word, the Lord is called an angel: 6280, 6831, 8192, 9303. A whole community is called an angel, and Michael and Raphael are angelic communities so named because of their functions: 8192. Angelic communities and individual angels do not have particular names, but are identified by the quality of their goodness and by some concept of it: 1705, 1754.

Heaven and Hell #52 (Harley, 1958)

52. That any one society is heaven in lesser form might be evident from the fact that there is in every society a heavenly form as there is in the whole heaven. In the whole heaven those who are superior to the rest are in the middle, with the less excellent round about in decreasing order, even to the boundaries, as may be seen stated in a preceding section (43). It can be seen also from this that the Lord leads all in the whole heaven as if they were one angel. The same is true of those in any one society. Hence, an entire angelic society sometimes appears as a one in the form of an angel, as I have been enabled by the Lord to see. In fact, when the Lord appears in the midst of angels He does not appear thronged about by many but as one in the angelic form. This is why the Lord is called "an angel" in the Word, and so is an entire society. "Michael," "Gabriel", and "Raphael" are no other than angelic societies so named from their functions. 1

Footnotes:

1. In the Word the Lord is called an angel (Arcana Coelestia 6280, 6831, 8192, 9303).

An entire angelic society is called an angel, and "Michael" and "Raphael" are angelic societies, so called from their functions (Arcana Coelestia 8192).

The societies of heaven and the angels have no name, but are distinguished by the quality of their good, and by the idea of it (Arcana Coelestia 1705, 1754).

Heaven and Hell #52 (Ager, 1900)

52. That each society is a heaven in a smaller form can be seen from this also, that each society there has a heavenly form like that of heaven as a whole. In the whole heavens those who are superior to the rest are in the middle, with the less excellent round about in a decreasing order even to the borders (as stated in a preceding chapter, 43). It can be seen also from this, that the Lord directs all in the whole heaven as if they were a single angel; and the same is true of all in each society; and as a consequence an entire angelic society sometimes appears in angelic form like a single angel, as I have been permitted by the Lord to see. Moreover, when the Lord appears in the midst of the angels He does not appear as one surrounded by many, but the appearance is as a one, in an angelic form. This is why the Lord is called "an angel" in the Word, and why an entire society is so called. "Michael," "Gabriel," and "Raphael" are no other than angelic societies so named from their function. 1

Footnotes:

1. In the Word the Lord is called an angel (Arcana Coelestia 6280, 6831, 8192, 9303).

A whole angelic society is called an angel, and Michael and Raphael are angelic societies, so called from their functions (8192).

The societies of heaven and the angels have no names, but are distinguished by the quality of their good, and by the idea of it (1705, 1754).

De Coelo et de Inferno #52 (original Latin)
