  7166.“为什么差遣我呢”表然而,当从神发出的律法似乎不是这么应许的时。这从“为什么”和“差遣”的含义,以及摩西的代表清楚可知:“为什么”是指当不是这么应许的时,为什么是这样呢?指着自己说这话的摩西是指从神来的律法,如刚才所述(7164节);“差遣”是指发出(47106831节)。因此,“为什么差遣我呢”表示从神发出的律法似乎不是这么应许的。由于这话是报怨虚假侵扰的人说的,所以看上去好像从神来的律法不是这么应许的。这就是为何说“似乎不是这么应许的”,尽管事实上,它并没有不这样应许。因为从神来的律法是秩序的律法,而对于那些处于受虚假侵扰状态的人,秩序的律法是,他们必须受侵扰,直到他们到了绝望的地步。除非他们到了绝望的地步,否则,从侵扰当中所获得的最终益处就会失去。试探会越来越强烈,直到绝望的地步,这一点从主在客西马尼(马太福音26:3839;马可福音14:33-36;路加福音22:44),以及后来在十字架上(马太福音27:46)所受的试探很明显地看出来,因为它已经达到绝望的状态。主所受的试探是忠信之人的试探所遵循的模式;这就是为何主说:凡跟从祂的,必须背上他的十字架(马太福音10:3816:24)。因为主的荣耀是人重生所遵循的模式(313832123296349044025688节);而重生主要通过试探实现。

7166. Why is this that Thou hast sent me? That this signifies when yet the law proceeding from the Divine seems to say otherwise, is evident from the signification of "why is this?" as being why is it so when it is said otherwise; from the representation of Moses, who says these things of himself, as being the law from the Divine (of which just above, see n. 7164); and from the signification of "being sent," as being to proceed (n. 4710, 6831). Hence by "Why is this that Thou hast sent me?" is signified that the law proceeding from the Divine seems to say otherwise. As this is said by him who complains of infestation by falsities, it appears as if the law from the Divine said otherwise, and therefore it is said that it seems to say otherwise, when yet it does not say otherwise. For the law from the Divine is the law of order, and the law of order concerning those who are in a state of infestations from falsities is that they must be infested even to despair, and unless they are infested to despair, the uttermost of the use of the infestation is lacking. That temptation is increased even to despair is very evident from the Lord's temptation in Gethsemane (Matt. 26:38, 39; Mark 14:33-36; Luke 22:44), and also afterward upon the cross (Matt. 27:46), in that it was carried even to a state of despair; and the temptation of the Lord is a pattern of the temptation of the faithful; wherefore the Lord says that whosoever would follow Him must take up his cross (Matt. 10:38; 16:24); for the glorification of the Lord is a pattern of the regeneration of man (n. 3138, 3212, 3296, 3490, 4402, 5688), and regeneration is effected chiefly by means of temptation.

7166. 'Why is this, that You have sent me?' means when yet the law going forth from God seems to promise something different. This is clear from the meaning of 'Why is this?' as, Why is this so when something different is said? from the representation of Moses, who uses these words in reference to himself, as the law from God, dealt with just above in 7164; and from the meaning of 'being sent' as going forth, dealt with in 4710, 6831. Consequently 'Why is this, [that] you have sent me?' means that the law going forth from God seems to promise something different. Because these words are spoken by one complaining about the molestation by falsities, the law from God appears to promise something different. This is why the expression 'seems to promise something different' is used, though in actual fact it does not promise anything different. For the law from God is the law of order, and the law of order so far as those passing through a state of molestations by falsities are concerned is that they must be molested until they reach the point of despair. Unless they reach the point of despair the final advantage to be gained from molestation is lost. The fact that temptation grows ever stronger until a person reaches the point of despair is plainly evident from the Lord's temptation in Gethsemane, Matt 26:38,39; Mark 14:33-36; Luke 22:44, and also after that on the Cross, Matt 27:46, when it was made to reach the state of despair. Now the Lord's temptation is the pattern which the temptation of faithful believers follows, which is why the Lord says that those who wish to follow Him must take up their cross, Matt 10:38; 16:24. For the glorification of the Lord is the pattern that the regeneration of man follows, 3138, 3212, 3296, 3490, 4402, 5688; and regeneration is effected chiefly by means of temptations.
