226、所有的讲道者都由主任命,因而有讲道的恩赐。其他人则不可在圣殿里讲道。他们被称为“讲道者”,而非“祭司”。他们之所以不是祭司,是因为天堂的祭司职分属于属天国度,因为祭司职分表示对主之爱的良善,属天国度的天使都处在这良善中。而天堂的王权属于属灵国度,因为王权表示源于良善的真理,属灵国度的天使都处在这真理中(参看24节)。{注1}

Heaven and Hell #226 (NCE, 2000)

226. All preachers are appointed by the Lord and therefore enjoy the gift of preaching. No one else is allowed to teach in church.

They are called preachers rather than priests. The reason they are not called priests is that heaven's priesthood is the heavenly kingdom, priesthood meaning the good of love for the Lord that characterizes the people in that kingdom. In contrast, heaven's kingship is the spiritual kingdom, kingship meaning the truth from what is good that characterizes people in that kingdom (see above, 24). 1

Footnotes:

1. Priests represented the Lord in respect to divine good, kings in respect to divine truth: 2015, 6148. So a priest in the Word means people who are attuned to the good of love for the Lord, and priesthood means that good itself: 9806, 9809. A king in the Word means people who are attuned to divine truth, so kingship means what is true from the good: 1672, 2015, 2069, 4575, 4581, 4966, 5044.

Heaven and Hell #226 (Harley, 1958)

226. All preachers are appointed by the Lord, and have therefore a gift for preaching. No one else is allowed to teach in the temples. They are called preachers, but not priests. They are not priests because the priesthood of heaven is the celestial kingdom, for priesthood signifies the good of love to the Lord, and those in the celestial kingdom are in that good. The royalty of heaven, however, is the spiritual kingdom, for royalty signifies truth from good in which are those who are in the spiritual kingdom (see above 24). 1

Footnotes:

1. Priests represented the Lord as to Divine Good, kings as to Divine Truth (Arcana Coelestia 2015, 6148).

Therefore, in the Word, a "priest" signifies those who are in the good of love to the Lord, thus the "priesthood" that good (Arcana Coelestia 9806, 9809).

A "king" in the Word signifies those who are in Divine Truth, and "royalty" truth from good (Arcana Coelestia 1672, 2015, 2069, 4575, 4581, 4966, 5044).

Heaven and Hell #226 (Ager, 1900)

226. All preachers are appointed by the Lord, and have therefrom a gift for preaching. No others are permitted to preach in the churches. They are not called priests, but preachers. They are not called priests because the celestial kingdom is the priesthood of heaven; for priesthood signifies the good of love to the Lord, and those in the celestial kingdom are in that good; while the spiritual kingdom is the kingship of heaven, for kingship signifies truth from good, and those in the spiritual kingdom are in that truth (see above, 24).

Therefore, in the Word a "priest" signifies those who are in the good of love to the Lord, and the priesthood signifies that good (Arcana Coelestia 9806, 9809).

2015, 6148).

A "king" in the Word signifies those who are in Divine truth, and therefrom kingship signifies truth from good (1672, 2015, 2069, 4575, 4581, 4966, 5044).

De Coelo et de Inferno #226 (original Latin)
