Potts(1905-1910) 6030

6030. And went up to meet Israel his father. That this signifies influx, namely, from the internal celestial into spiritual good from the natural, is evident from the representation of Joseph, who "goes up to meet," as being the internal celestial (see n. 5869, 5877); and from the representation of Israel, as being spiritual good (see n. 5801, 5803, 5806, 5812, 5817, 5819, 5826, 5833). Thus it follows that "to go up to meet him" denotes influx, for "to go up to meet," here, is to betake himself and come unto him.

Elliott(1983-1999) 6030

6030. 'And went up to meet Israel his father' means an inflowing - from the internal celestial into spiritual good from the natural. This is clear from the representation of Joseph, the one who 'went up', as the internal celestial, dealt with in 5869, 5877; and from the representation of 'Israel' as spiritual good, dealt with in 5801, 5803, 5806, 5812, 5817, 5819, 5826, 5833. From this it follows that an inflowing is meant by 'going up to meet him', for 'going up to meet' here implies setting out and coming towards him.

Latin(1748-1756) 6030

@1 i a caelesti spirituali in bonum spirituale$ @2 i ad illum$
