Apocalypse Revealed (Rogers translation 2007) 614

614. 14:2 And I heard a voice from heaven, like the voice of many waters. This symbolizes the Lord speaking through the new heaven with Divine truths.

A voice from heaven symbolizes an utterance or declaration coming from the Lord through heaven, for when a voice is heard from heaven, it comes from the Lord. Here it comes through the new heaven formed of Christians, meant by Mount Zion on which the Lamb was seen standing, and with him the one hundred and forty-four thousand (nos. 612[1-4], 613). Many waters symbolize Divine truths (no. 50).

The Lord is similarly depicted as speaking through heaven with Divine truths in the following places:

The Son of Man's voice was heard "as the sound of many waters" in Revelation 1:15. And the voice from the throne "as the sound of many waters" in Revelation 19:6. The voice of the God of Israel "like the sound of many waters" in Ezekiel 43:2.

The voice of Jehovah is over the waters..., Jehovah over many waters. (Psalms 29:3)

...the sound of (the cherubim's) wings, like the sound of many waters... (Ezekiel 1:24)

Cherubim symbolize the Word (no. 239), thus the Divine truth with which the Lord speaks.

Apocalypse Revealed (Coulson translation 1970) 614

614. [verse 2] 'And I heard a voice out of heaven as the voice of many waters' signifies the Lord speaking through the New Heaven out of Divine Truths. By 'a voice out of heaven' is signified a voice or speech from the Lord through heaven; for when a voice is heard out of heaven it is from the Lord. Here it is through the New Heaven of Christians, which is understood by 'Mount Zion' upon which the Lamb was seen to stand, and with Him the hundred and forty-four thousand (612-613). By 'many waters' are signified Divine Truths (50). Of the Lord speaking through heaven out of Divine Truths it is similarly said in the following passages:

The voice of the Son of Man was heard as the voice of many waters. Revelation 1:15

And a voice out of the throne as the voice of many waters. Revelation 19:6.

And the voice of the God of Israel as the voice of many waters. Ezekiel 43:2.

The voice of Jehovah upon the waters, Jehovah upon many waters. Psalms 29:3.

The sound of the cherubs' wings as the sound of great waters. Ezekiel 1:24.

By 'the cherubs' is signified the Word (239), thus the Divine Truth out of which the Lord speaks.

Apocalypse Revealed (Whitehead translation 1928) 614

614. Verse 2. And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, signifies the Lord speaking through the New Heaven from Divine truths. By "a voice from heaven" is signified a voice or speech from the Lord through heaven; for when a voice is heard from heaven, it is from the Lord; here, through the New Heaven of Christians, which is meant by "Mount Zion," upon which "the Lamb was seen standing, and with him a hundred forty-four thousand" (612, 613); by "many waters" are signified Divine truths, (50). The like is said of the Lord speaking through heaven from Divine truths, in the following passages:

The voice of the Son of man was heard as the voice of many waters, (Revelation 1:15).

And a voice from the throne, as the voice of many waters, (Revelation 19:6).

And the voice of the God of Israel as the voice of many waters, (Ezekiel 43:2).

The voice of Jehovah is upon the waters, Jehovah is upon many waters, (Psalms 29:3).

The sound of the wings of the cherubim was like the sound of great waters, (Ezekiel 1:24).

By "the cherubim" is signified the Word, (239), thus Divine truth, from which the Lord speaks.

Apocalypsis Revelata 614 (original Latin 1766)

614. (Vers. 2.)

Et vox e Throno "tanquam Vox aquarum multarum," (Apocalypsis 19:6);

Et vox Dei Israelis "tanquam Vox aquarum multarum," (Ezechiel 43:2);

"Vox Jehovae super aquis, Jehovah super aquis multis," (Psalm 29:3); 2

Sonus alarum Cheruborum "sicut Sonus aquarum magnarum," (Ezechiel 1:24);
