Apocalypse Explained (Tansley translation 1923) 309

309. Behold the Lion hath prevailed. That this signifies that the Lord from His own power subjugated the hells, and reduced all things there and in the heavens to order, appears from the signification of prevailing, when said of the Lord, that is, that when He was in the world He subjugated the hells, and reduced all things there and in the heavens to order, and this by temptations admitted into His Human, and then by continual victories. (Concerning which see the 14:10, 11).

And elsewhere in the same:

"Verily I say unto you, the Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do; for whatsoever things he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. As the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them, even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. As the Father hath life in Himself, so also hath He given to the Son to have life in Himself" (5:19, 21, 26).

Because the Divine, which the Lord calls the Father, was His own Divine, and not another Divine, therefore it is evident that whatever He did from the Father, and also whatever [He did] from the Human, which He calls the Son, He did from Himself; and thus that He did all things by His own power, because [He did them] from what was His own.

Apocalypse Explained (Whitehead translation 1912) 309

309. Behold, the Lion hath overcome, signifies that the Lord from His own power subjugated the hells, and reduced all things there and in the heavens to order. This is evident from the signification of "overcoming," when predicated of the Lord, namely, that when He was in the world He subjugated the hells, and reduced all things there and in the heavens to order, and this by temptations admitted into His Human, and then by continual victories (of which see in John 14:10-11).

And elsewhere in the same:

Verily I say unto you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, except what He seeth the Father doing; for whatever things He doeth, these also the Son doeth in like manner. As the Father raiseth up the dead and quickeneth them, even so the Son quickeneth whom He will. As the Father hath life in Himself, so also gave He to the Son to have life in Himself (John 5:19, 21, 26).

As the Divine, which the Lord calls "the Father," was His Divine, and not another Divine, it can be seen that whatever He did from the Father, as well as whatever He did from the Human which He calls "the Son," He did from Himself; and thus that He did all things by His own power, since He did them from what was His.

Apocalypsis Explicata 309 (original Latin 1759)

309. "Ecce vicit Leo."

Quod sicut Pater etiam Filius, infinitus, increatus, aeternus, omnipotens, Deus, Dominus, et quod nemo Eorum maximus et minimus, nec primus et ultimus, sed prorsus aequales;

"Pater, qui in Me manet, Ipse facit opera; credite Mihi quod Ego in Patre, et Pater in Me " (14:10, 11);

et alibi apud eundem,

"Amen dico Vobis, Non potest Filius facere quicquam a Se Ipso, nisi quid viderit Patrem facientem; quae namque Ipse facit, haec etiam Filius similiter facit:.... quemadmodum Pater suscitat mortuos et vivificat, ita etiam Filius quos vult vivificat;.... quemadmodum Pater habet vitam in Se Ipso, ita etiam dedit Filio vitam habere in Se Ipso" (5:19, 21, 26);
