Potts(1905-1910) 2947

2947. To the eyes of the sons of my people give I it thee. That this signifies as to the understanding of all, is evident from the signification of the "eyes," as being the understanding (see n. 2701); and from the signification of "sons of the people," as being all; "sons of the people" are those who for the first time are initiated into truths, for "people" are those who are in truths (n. 1259, 1260); therefore it is not said "to the eyes of my people," but "to the eyes of the sons of my people."

Elliott(1983-1999) 2947

2947. 'Before the eyes of the sons of my people I give it to you' means according to the understanding of everyone. This is clear from the meaning of 'the eyes' as the understanding, dealt with in 2701, and from the meaning of 'the sons of the people' as everyone. 'The sons of the people' are those who are first introduced to truths, for 'people' are those who possess truths, 1259, 1260; and this is why not 'before the eyes of my people' but 'before the eyes of the sons of my people' occurs here.

Latin(1748-1756) 2947

@1 secundum$
