116、创世记2:13.第二道河名叫基训;就是环绕古实全地的。
被称为“基训”的“第二道河”表示对属于良善与真理,或爱与信的一切事物的认知;“古实地”表示心智或官能。心智由意愿和理解力构成;论及第一道河的话与意愿有关,论及第二道河的话与理解力有关,对良善与真理的认知属于理解力。

[NCE]116. Genesis 2:13. And the name of the second river is Gihon; it is circling the whole land of Cush.
The second river, called Gihon, symbolizes knowledge about everything involved in goodness and truth, or in love and faith. The land of Cush symbolizes our mental abilities.
Will and intellect constitute the mind. The attributes portrayed by the first river belong to the will, while those portrayed by this second river belong to the intellect, which houses our knowledge of goodness and truth.

116. Verse 13. And the name of the second river is Gihon; the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Cush. The "second river" which is called "Gihon" signifies the knowledge [cognitio] of all things that belong to the good and the true, or to love and faith, and the "land of Cush" signifies the mind or faculty. The mind is constituted of the will and the understanding; and what is said of the first river has reference to the will, and what of this one to the understanding to which belong the knowledges [cognitiones] of good and of truth.

'The second river', which is called the Gihon, means the cognizance of all things that have to do with what is good and what is true, that is, with love and faith. 'The land of Cush' means the mind, or [mental] power. The mind consists of will and understanding. All that is said about the first river has reference to the will, and all that is said about this [second river] has reference to the understanding, to which the cognitions of good and of truth belong.
