Potts(1905-1910) 10656

10656. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened things. That this signifies a holy state then, and the appropriation of Divine truth purified from evil and from the falsities of evil, is evident from the signification of "seven days," as being a holy state from beginning to end (that "days" denote states, see n. 23, 487, 488, 493, 893, 2788, 3462, 3785, 4850; and that "seven" denotes what is holy, n. 395, 433, 716, 881, 5265, 5268; and that "seven days" denote a holy state from beginning to end, n. 728, 6508, 9228, 10127); from the signification of "eating," as being appropriation (n. 3168, 3513, 3596, 4745); and from the signification of "unleavened things," as being Divine truth purified from evil and from the falsities of evil (n. 9992).

Elliott(1983-1999) 10656

10656. 'Seven days you shall eat the unleavened bread' means a holy state then, and making Divine Truth, purified from evil and from the falsities of evil, one's own. This is clear from the meaning of 'seven days' as a holy state from start to finish (states are meant by 'days', see 23, 487, 488, 493, 893, 2788, 3462, 3785, 4850, that which is holy by 'seven', 395, 433, 716, 881, 5265, 5268, and a holy state from start to finish by 'seven days', 728, 6508, 9228, 10127); from the meaning of 'eating' as making one's own, dealt with in 3168, 3513(end), 3596, 4745; and from the meaning of that which is 'unleavened' as Divine Truth purified from evil and from the falsities of evil, dealt with in 9992.

Latin(1748-1756) 10656

10656. `Septem diebus comedes azyma': quod significet statum sanctum tunc ac appropriationem Divini Veri purificati a malo et a falsis mali, constat ex significatione `septem dierum' quod sint status sanctus a principio ad finem; quod `dies' sint status, videatur n. 23, 487, 488, 493, 893, 2788, 3462, 3785, 4850, et quod `septem' sint sanctum, n. 395, 433, 716, 881, 5265, 5268, et quod `septem dies' sint status sanctus a principio ad finem, n. 728, 6508, 9228, 10127; ex significatione `comedere' quod sit appropriatio, de qua n. 3168, 3513 fin., 3596, 4745; et ex significatione `azymi' quod sit Divinum Verum purificatum a malo et a falsis mali, de qua n. 9992.
