True Christianity #573 (Rose, 2010)

573. Since being created also means being regenerated, the heading above speaks of those who are "born again and created anew, so to speak. " It is clear from the following passages that being created has this meaning in the Word.

Create for me a clean heart, O God, and renew a firm spirit within me. (Psalms 51:10)

You open your hand, and they are filled with goodness. You send forth your spirit, and they are created. (Psalms 104:28, 30)

The people who are yet to be created will praise Jah. (Psalms 102:18)

Behold, I am going to create Jerusalem as a rejoicing. (Isaiah 65:18)

Thus says Jehovah, the one who created you, O Jacob; the one who formed you, O Israel: "I have redeemed you. All who are called by my name I have created for my glory. " (Isaiah 43:1, 7)

. . . so that they may see, recognize, consider, and understand that the Holy One of Israel has created this. (Isaiah 41:20)

There are other such passages as well; and see also the places where the Lord is called Creator, Shaper, or Maker.

This sheds some light on what the following words mean, which were spoken by the Lord to his disciples:

Go into the whole world and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:15)

Creatures here mean all who are able to be regenerated. See also Revelation 3:14; 2 Corinthians 5:17.

True Christian Religion #573 (Chadwick, 1988)

573. Since to be created also means to be regenerated, it is said of one who is born again and as it were created anew. The following passages, not to mention others, prove that to be created has this meaning in the Word.

Create for me, God, a clean heart, and make new a steadfast spirit within me, Psalms 51:10.

You open your hand, and they are filled with good; you send forth your spirit, and they are created, Psalms 104:28, 30.

The people who are going to be created will praise Jah, Psalms 102:18.

Behold, I shall create Jerusalem to be a rejoicing, Isaiah 65:18.

Thus spoke Jehovah, your Creator, Jacob, who formed you, Israel, I have redeemed you. Everyone who is called after my name, I have created him for my glory, Isaiah 43:1, 7.

So that they may see, know, attend and understand that the Holy One of Israel created this, Isaiah 41:20.

This is also clear where the Lord is called Creator, He who forms and Maker. This makes it plain what is the meaning of the Lord's charge to His disciples:

Go into the whole world, preach the Gospel to every creature, Mark 16:15.

Creatures means all who can be regenerated; likewise, Revelation 3:14; 2 Corinthians 5:16-17

True Christian Religion #573 (Ager, 1970)

573. The expression "born again," which means, as it were, created anew, is here used because "to be created" signifies to be regenerated. That this is the signification of "to be created" in the Word can be seen from the following passages:

Create for me a clean heart, O God; and renew a firm spirit in the midst of me (Psalms 51:10).

Thou openest Thy hand, they are satisfied with good; Thou sendest forth Thy spirit, they are created (Psalms 104:28, 30).

A people that shall be created shall praise Jah (Psalms 102:18).

Behold I will create Jerusalem a rejoicing (Isaiah 65:18).

Thus hath said Jehovah, Thy Creator, O Jacob, and thy Former, O Israel, I have redeemed thee. Everyone that is called by My name, into My glory have I created him (Isaiah 43:1, 7).

That they may see, know, consider and understand, that the Holy One of Israel hath created it (Isaiah 41:20). (And elsewhere.)

Also where the Lord is called Creator, Former and Maker. This makes clear what is meant by these words of the Lord to His disciples:

Going into all the world, preach ye the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15);

"creatures" meaning all who are capable of regeneration. (So also in Revelation 3:14; 2 Corinthians 5:16, 17.)

True Christian Religion #573 (Dick, 1950)

573. Since "to be created" also signifies to be regenerated, this term is applied to him who is born again and, as it were, created anew. That "to be created" has this signification in the Word, is plain from these passages:

"Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me" Psalms 2:10.

"Thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good... Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created" Psalms 104:28, 30.

"The people which shall be created shall praise JAH" Psalms 102:18.

"Behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing" Isaiah 65:18.

"Thus saith JEHOVAH, thy Creator (A.V., that created thee) O Jacob, and thy Former (A.V., he that formed thee), O Israel... I have redeemed thee... every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory" Isaiah 43:1, 7.

"That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand... that the Holy One of Israel hath created it" Isaiah 41:20.

There are also other passages and some where the Lord is called Creator, Former and Maker. Hence it is plain what is meant by these words of the Lord to His disciples:

"Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15.

By creatures are meant all who can be regenerated, as may also be seen in Revelation 3:14; and in 2 Corinthians 5:16-17.

Vera Christiana Religio #573 (original Latin,1770)

573. Quoniam creari etiam significat regenerari, ideo dicitur qui denuo generatur et sicut e novo creatur; quod creari id in Verbo significet, constat ex his locis, "Cor mundum CREA mihi Deus, et spiritum 1 firmum innova in medio mei, Psalm 51:12. 2 Aperis manum, saturantur bono, emittis spiritum, CREANTUR, 3 Psalm 104:28, 30. Populus, qui CREABITUR, 4 laudabit Jah, Psalm 102:19. 5 Ecce Ego CREATURUS 6 sum Hierosolymam exultationem, Esaias 65:18. Sic dixit Jehovah, CREATOR 7 tuus Jacob, Formator tuus Israel, redemi te; omnem vocatum a nomine meo, in gloriam meam Creavi eum, Esaias 43:1, 7.
