二十一、圣治

267、主在天堂和尘世的治理被称为圣治。由于一切爱之良善和一切信之真理,就是对救恩来说必不可少的两样事物,都来自祂,无一来自人,所以很明显,主的圣治就在有助于拯救人类的每个细节中。主在约翰福音以这些话教导了这一点:

  我就是道路、真理、生命。(约翰福音14:6

  别处:

枝子若不住在葡萄树上,自己就不能结果子。你们若不住在我里面,也是这样。因为离了我,你们就不能做什么。(约翰福音15:4-5).

267、主在天堂和尘世的治理被称为天命。因为建基于爱之良善和信之真理的拯救是来自祂,根本没有什么来自人。由此彰显于万事万物之中的主的天命,实为有助于人类的救赎。因此主在《约翰福音》中这样教导:

我就是道路、真理、生命(约翰福音14:6

267. Providence

Providence is the name for the Lord's governance in the heavens and on earth. Since all the goodness that comes from love and all the truth that leads to faith-the things that are required for our salvation-come from him and none whatever comes from us, we can see that the Lord's divine providence is involved in absolutely everything that contributes to the salvation of the human race. As the Lord teaches in John:

I am the way, the truth, and the life. (John 14:6)

And again,

As a branch cannot bear fruit on its own unless it abides on the vine, the same goes for you unless you abide in me. Without me you cannot do anything. (John 15:4, 5)

267. Chapter 21. The Lord’s Provision for Us

The Lord’s rule in heaven and on earth is called provision. Everything good from love and everything true in faith, which spiritual well-being comes from, is from him, and nothing at all is from us. So you can see that the Lord’s divine provision takes care of every single thing that contributes to the spiritual well-being of the human race. The Lord taught this in John: “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). And in another place:

Just as a branch cannot produce fruit by itself, unless it remains on the vine, neither can you, unless you remain in me.... You can do nothing without me. (John 15:4-5)

267. XXI. ON PROVIDENCE

The Lord's rule in the heavens and on earth is called Providence. Since all good, which concerns love, and all truth, which concerns faith, the two things necessary for salvation, come from Him, and nothing at all from the person himself, it is clear that the Lord's Divine Providence is over every detail which is of use for the salvation of the human race. This is taught by the Lord in these words from John:

I am the way, truth and life. John 14:6.

and elsewhere:

As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it remains in me, so neither can you unless you remain in me. You cannot do anything, except from me. John 15:4-5.

THE Lord's Government in heaven and on earth is called Providence; and since all the good which is of love and all the truth which is of faith, from which there is salvation, are from Him, and not at all from man, it is thence evident that the Lord's Divine Providence is in each and all things which conduce to the salvation of mankind. This is taught by the Lord in John: I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life" (John 14:6). And again, "As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in Me: for without Me ye can do nothing" (John 15:4-5).

REGIMEN Domini in caelis et in terris vocatur Providentia; et quia omne bonum quod amoris et omne verum quod fidei, ex quibus salus, est ab Ipso, et prorsus nihil ab homine, inde patet quod Divina providentia Domini sit in omnibus et singulis quae ad salutem generis humani conducunt. Hoc ita docet Dominus apud Johannem,

"Ego sum via, ..veritas, et vita" (Johannes 14:8);

Et alibi,

"Quemadmodum palmes non potest fructum ferre a se ipso nisi manserit in vite, ita (neque) vos, nisi in Me manseritis:....nisi a Me non potestis facere quicquam" (Johannes 15:4-5).
