33# “但愿荣耀、权能归给祂,直到世世代代”表示这些事物,即神性良善和神性真理,唯独来自主,直到永远。这从“荣耀”和“权能”的含义清楚可知:“荣耀”是指天堂里的神性真理(参看《属天的奥秘》,4809, 5922, 8267, 8427, 9429节);“权能”是指藉由神性真理的神性良善,因为神性良善拥有一切权能,一切能力都藉由神性真理而来(参看3091, 3563, 6344, 6423, 8304, 9643, 10019,10182节;《天堂与地狱》论述来自主的天堂天使能力的章节,即228–233节)。“直到世世代代”表示直到永远,这是显而易见的,无需解释。“荣耀”之所以是天堂里的神性真理,是因为神性真理就是那里的光;从天堂之光获得存在的事物被称为“荣耀”,因为它们从主获得存在,并代表来自祂的神性真理,述说祂的荣耀;尤其在天使里面的事物,这些事物属于聪明和智慧。天堂之光是神性真理,天堂里的一切事物,无论在天使之外,还是之内,都从那里的光获得存在(参看《天堂与地狱》,126–140, 172–173, 176节)。世人以为“荣耀归给神”意味着神为了自己的缘故而渴望来自人的荣耀,祂被这荣耀感动,并为此赐福给人;但这是一个错误。神渴望来自人的荣耀是为了人;因为这样人就会将一切都归于神性,不将任何东西归于自己;当他这样做时,神性就能以神性真理流入,赐予他聪明和智慧。主只以这种方式在人里面得荣耀;因为主爱每个人,并出于爱而渴望祂的荣耀,也就是神性真理可以在人里面。主在约翰福音中也教导了这一点:

33. And to him be the glory and the strength unto the ages of the ages. That this signifies that those things, or Divine good and Divine truth, are from the Lord alone to eternity, is evident from the signification of glory, as being Divine truth in heaven (concerning which, see Arcana Coelestia 4347, 4593, 5957, 7550, 8263, 10646.)
