92、只有那些熟悉平安状态的人才能了解争战,或恶欲和虚假所造成的动乱止息后,外在人的平安宁静是何性质。这种状态是如此令人喜乐,以至于超越对喜乐的一切概念。它不仅仅是争战的止息,还是从内在平安发出,并以一种无法形容的方式影响外在人的生命。这时,信之真理和爱之良善诞生了,它们从这种平安所带来的喜乐中获得自己的生命。

None but those who have experienced a state of peace can appreciate the nature of the peaceful tranquillity that the outer self enjoys when there is an end to struggle, or to the disquiet of burning desires and misconceptions. That state is so joyful that it surpasses all our notions of joy. It is not simply an end to our struggles but a vibrancy welling up from deep-seated peace, affecting our outer being beyond the capacity of words to describe it.
That state gives birth to religious truth and a loving goodness, which draw their life from the joy of peace.

The nature of the tranquility of peace of the external man, on the cessation of combat, or of the unrest caused by cupidities and falsities, can be known only to those who are acquainted with a state of peace. This state is so delightful that it surpasses every idea of delight: it is not only a cessation of combat, but is life proceeding from interior peace, and affecting the external man in such a manner as cannot be described; the truths of faith, and the goods of love, which derive their life from the delight of peace, are then born.

None but the person who is acquainted with the state of peace is capable of knowing about the serenity of the peace of the external man, which ensues when conflict, the unrest caused by evil desires and by falsities, comes to an end. That state is so joyful that it transcends every idea of joy. It is not just an end of conflict; it is also life coming from an inward peace, influencing the external man in a way that defies description. At that point truths of faith and goods of love are born, which draw their life from the joy that peace brings.
