  6298.“当日就给他们祝福”表持续到永远的预见和天意。这从“祝福”的含义清楚可知,“祝福”是指预言(参看62306254节),但就至高意义而言,是指主的预见;由于所表示的是预见,故也表示提供,因为这一个不可能离开那一个;事实上,邪恶属预见,良善属天意,被预见的邪恶按照天意被折向良善。“祝福”在此之所以表示预见和天意,是因为就至高意义而言,此处给予祝福的“以色列”是指主(4286节)。所表示的是永远,这从“当日”或“今日”的含义清楚可知,“当日”或“今日”是指永恒之物(2838399843046165节)。

6298. And he blessed them in this day. That this signifies foresight and providence eternally, is evident from the signification of "blessing," as being prediction (see n. 6230, 6254), but in the supreme sense the Lord's foresight; and because foresight, it is also Providence, for the one is impossible without the other; for evil is foreseen and good is provided, and the evil which is foreseen is by providence bent into good. That here "to bless" denotes foresight and providence, is because Israel, who here blesses, in the supreme sense is the Lord (n. 4286). That eternally is meant, is evident from the signification of "this day," or "today," as being what is eternal (n. 2838, 3998, 4304, 6165).

6298. 'And he blessed them on this day' means Foresight and Providence continuing for ever. This is clear from the meaning of 'blessing' as a foretelling, dealt with in 6230, 6254, but in the highest sense the Lord's Foresight (and as Foresight is meant, so also is Providence since the one does not exist without the other; for evil belongs to Foresight, but good to Providence, and evil that is foreseen is turned by Providence towards good. The reason why 'blessing' here means Foresight and Providence is that in the highest sense 'Israel', who gives the blessing, is the Lord, 4286); and from the meaning of 'on this day' or today as that which is eternal, dealt with in 2838, 7998, 4304, 6165.
