[NCE]1794. What will you give me? For I am walking childless, means that there was no inward religion, as can be seen from the symbolism of walking childless. Walking in an inner sense is living, as shown earlier, in 519. Being childless, however, or having no seed, no descendants of one's own, is dealt with in verses 3, 4, 5 below, where you will find an explanation of childlessness, or lack of seed [1798, 1799, 1802, 1803, 1804, 1810].

Potts(1905-1910) 1794

1794. What wilt Thou give me, and I am walking childless? That this signifies that there is no internal church, may be seen from the signification of "walking childless." To "walk," in the internal sense, is to live (as before shown, n. 519); but one who is childless is one who has no seed, or no posterity of his own. This is treated of in the following verses (3-5), where it is explained what is meant by one who is childless, or one who has no seed.

Elliott(1983-1999) 1794

1794. 'What will You give me, seeing that I go childless'a means that there was no internal Church. This becomes clear from the meaning of 'walking childless'. In the internal sense 'walking' is living, as shown already in 519. One who is childless however, who has no seed or descendants of his own, is dealt with below in verses 3-5, where the meaning of one who is childless or has no seed is explained.
