[NCE]1552. The symbolism of and gold as the good effects that result from truth can be seen from the symbolism of gold as heavenly good, or the good that comes of wisdom and love. This is established by the proofs just above and by remarks earlier at 搂113. The fact that in this verse it means good effects resulting from truth follows from the message of the last chapter: that the Lord united intuitive truth with heavenly qualities [搂搂1495-1497].

Potts(1905-1910) 1552

1552. And in gold. That this signifies goods from truths, is evident from the signification of "gold," as being celestial good, or the good of wisdom and of love, as is evident from the things just shown, and also from those shown before (n. 113). That the goods here are from truths, follows from what was said in the foregoing chapter, that the Lord conjoined intellectual truths with celestial things.

Elliott(1983-1999) 1552

1552. 'And gold' means goods deriving from truths. This is clear from the meaning of 'gold' as celestial good, or the good of wisdom and love, as is clear from what has just been shown and also from what was shown previously in 113. That here they are goods deriving from truths follows from what was stated in the previous chapter about the Lord's joining intellectual truths to celestial things.
